"Green Horizons: Environmental Chemistry and the Path to Sustainability" is a comprehensive course designed to explore the intricate relationship between chemistry and the environment while paving the way for a sustainable future. Spanning across multiple lectures, this course delves into the fundamental principles of environmental chemistry, covering topics such as the impact of pollutants on water, air, soil, and the challenges of waste management and recycling. It further investigates the role of chemicals in agriculture, renewable energy sources, and the environmental impact of industrial processes. Delving deeper, the course examines advanced subjects like climate change, greenhouse gases, advanced water and air quality control, sustainable urban development, circular economy principles, environmental policies, and innovations in green chemistry. The program also encompasses critical issues such as ecosystem health, environmental toxicology, and risk assessment, providing insights into cutting-edge technologies, including green nanotechnology and their environmental implications. Students will gain a profound understanding of the intricate connections between chemistry and our environment, equipping them to contribute meaningfully to sustainable practices and policies for a greener future.

At the end of the program, students will receive a certificate & performance letter by the eductor indicating that they have completed the program and acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen profession.

Green Horizons: Environmental Chemistry and Sustainability, by Mouchandra Paul

  • Mouchandra Paul is Biotechnology graduate of Batch 2020 from NIT Durgapur, and she recently got admission to Ph.D. Program in the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kanpur. She has received Prime Minister's Research Fellowship starting in May 2022 (Cycle 9). Apart from being good at Academics, she is also very enthusiastic about Entrepreneurship & Startups, thus grooming herself with tons of extra-curricular activities during her Graduation years.
