Welcome to Forethought India One-on-One Courses. Our program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their chosen profession. Our instructor for this course is Prof. Pilar M Gurrieri at Politecnico Di Milano
"Architronics: Exploring the Future of Digital and Parametric Architecture" is a dynamic course delving into the forefront of architectural innovation. This comprehensive program is designed to immerse students in the realm of digital and parametric architecture, covering a wide array of topics essential for understanding and harnessing cutting-edge technologies in architectural design. Through a series of meticulously crafted lectures, students will explore foundational concepts, such as the integration of computational tools, basics of parametric design, and the role of algorithms in shaping architectural landscapes. The course progresses into more advanced areas, delving into parametric modeling, sustainable design, digital fabrication, and the intricate relationship between technology and architectural practice. Furthermore, it explores emergent domains including AI integration, virtual and augmented reality, biomimicry, big data analytics, and ethical considerations in digital architecture. Culminating in a comprehensive final project showcase, this course not only equips students with theoretical knowledge but also encourages practical application, fostering a deep understanding of the potential and challenges posed by digital and parametric architecture in shaping the future built environment.
At the end of the program, students will receive a certificate & performance letter by the educator indicating that they have completed the program and acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen profession.
Architronics: Future of Digital and Parametric Architecture, by Pilar Guerrieri
Dr. Pilar Maria Guerrieri has been living between Milan, London, and Delhi for the past ten years. She is holds a Ph.D. with honors from Politecnico di Milano, in collaboration with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage in Delhi and Westminster University in London; and a postgraduate degree in Philosophy. She has been extensively studying the city of Delhi, in particular, the impact of different cultures on its urban planning and architecture. She has been researching European and Indian cultures, the development of megacities and the effects of cultural exchanges; she developed comparative studies between urban settlements and different types of architecture and explored the meaning of terms such as ‘tradition’, ‘legacies’ and ‘heritage’. Pilar since she finished her Ph.D. is teaching, she has been Associate Professor in Delhi at the Italian-Indian GD Goenka University and now Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano in Milan. Her courses focus on Cross-Cultural Studies in the field of urban planning and architecture. She is teaching at the undergraduate and graduate level, being part of the Ph.D. program. Moreover, Pilar has also been part of Ambedkar University as fellow researcher on the Urban Habitation Research and Documentation Project, and she is currently nternational Advisory Council Member of the Indian Trust for Rural Heritage and Development (ITRHD), which is specifically responsible for the development of villages in India. She has been published in several international journals, participated in national and international conferences, and published books on the city of Delhi, Milan, and worldwide architecture.
