  • Victor Pereira is lecturer on education and Co-Chair of the Teaching and Teaching Leadership program (TTL). He earned his Bachelor of Science in biology and Master of Arts in teaching from Boston College. Prior to coming to HGSE, Pereira taught, coached, mentored and worked in many teacher-leadership roles for 14 years in Boston Public Schools. In 2012, Pereira was the Massachusetts Recipient of the Amgen Award for Science Teaching Excellence. Pereira has worked with the teacher preparation programs at HGSE in many different capacities since 2004 focused on developing new teachers and improving science teaching and learning in middle and high school classrooms. Pereira’s passion is helping science educators promote scientific literacy through authentic and relevant learning opportunities that prepare students to be informed and engaged citizens.
