The course, "Basics of Chemical Reaction Engineering," presents a comprehensive overview of fundamental concepts and advanced principles essential to understanding chemical reactions in various engineering applications. Covering a spectrum of topics, the course delves into the core principles governing reaction kinetics, stoichiometry, and rate laws. It explores different types of reactors—batch, continuous flow (CSTRs and PFRs), and their design considerations. The discussions extend to the complexities of multiple reactions, temperature and pressure effects, as well as the interplay of mass transfer in reacting systems. Furthermore, the course delves into advanced areas such as heterogeneous and homogenous reactions, catalysis, environmental applications, reactor stability, and reactor optimization. With an emphasis on real-world scenarios, the course aims to equip students with a solid understanding of reaction engineering, preparing them for the challenges and innovations in this dynamic field.

At the end of the program, students will receive a certificate & performance letter by the eductor indicating that they have completed the program and acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen profession.

  • I am a patient and persistent learner. By training, I am a Computational Chemist with expertise in protein/peptide modeling, peptide folding, drug-receptor modeling, antigen-antibody interaction modeling, allosteric site identification and protein engineering. Computational methodologies/analyses such as enhanced sampling molecular dynamics simulations, molecular docking and calculations of thermodynamical parameters (entropy and free energy), all atom and coarse-grained modeling and simulations are my proficiencies. I am familiar with bioinformatics and cheminformatics libraries and also have working knowledge of ML models to solve problems in biochemistry.
