Welcome to Forethought India One-on-One Courses. Our program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their chosen profession. Our instructor for this course is Lecturer Nadeem Kasmani from Harvard Medical School


The "Adapted Physical Education for Special Populations" course is a comprehensive program designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to cater to the diverse needs of special populations in physical education. This course delves into understanding the various disabilities and challenges faced by individuals, exploring adaptive equipment, assistive technologies, and tailored instructional methods to foster inclusive physical activities. It covers the development of individualized education programs (IEPs), strategies for effective communication, and the integration of diverse special needs within physical education settings. Advanced topics include in-depth discussions on sensory processing challenges, behavioral management, adaptive sports, fitness programs, and collaborative approaches with other professionals. The course emphasizes creating inclusive environments, promoting social inclusion, and exploring legal aspects, policy considerations, and advocacy for special needs individuals within the realm of adapted physical education. Through a blend of theoretical understanding and practical applications, participants will gain the necessary tools to provide comprehensive, effective, and personalized physical education to individuals with diverse abilities.

At the end of the program, students will receive a certificate & performance letter by the eductor indicating that they have completed the program and acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen profession.

Adapted Physical Education for Special Populations, by Nadeem Kasmani

  • Nadeem Kasmani is a physician and global health practitioner who is currently working as a Lecturer and Research Scholar at the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School (HMS).

    Dr. Kasmani received his M.D. degree from the school of medicine at the National University of Science and Technology (formerly known as Oman Medical College). After working for two years at Rashid Hospital in UAE, Dr. Kasmani was selected to attend the master's program in Global Health Delivery at HMS. He specializes in both Qualitative and Quantitative research methods. Dr. Kasmani has worked as a global health researcher on various mental health and maternal & child health (MNCH) projects in Tanzania, Haiti, Iraq, Bhutan, Ethiopia, and the United States.

    In December 2020, Dr. Kasmani co-founded Grassroots, a nonprofit dedicated to improving MNCH outcomes and developing Community Health Workforce in limited-resource populations worldwide.
