"Thermodynamics Demystified: An Introductory Guide" is a comprehensive course designed to unravel the fundamental principles and concepts of thermodynamics. This course takes you on a journey through the fascinating world of thermodynamics, explaining complex topics in a clear and approachable manner. Whether you are a beginner or seeking a deeper understanding of this critical subject, our course equips you with the knowledge and skills to grasp the laws of thermodynamics, the behavior of matter, heat transfer, and the principles that govern engines, cycles, and refrigeration systems. From basic concepts to advanced applications, you will explore critical aspects such as entropy, phase transitions, chemical reactions, and energy efficiency. Additionally, real-world case studies and practical insights make this course a valuable resource for students, engineers, and anyone interested in harnessing the power of thermodynamics for a wide range of applications. Join us on this enlightening journey to demystify the world of thermodynamics and discover its significance in various fields.

At the end of the program, students will receive a certificate & performance letter by the eductor indicating that they have completed the program and acquired the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen profession.

Thermodynamics Demystified: An Introductory Guide, by Terence Wong at NTU

  • Dr. Terence Wong (SMIEEE) is a tenured associate professor of electrical and electronic engineering. He had been with the microelectronics division of EEE NTU since 1994. He had worked on a variety of research projects in semiconductor materials and devices (see specialties). In recent years, his research focus has shifted to photovoltaics and energy storage devices. He has taught both undergraduate and graduate courses in microelectronics and is an adjunct lecturer at the GIST (German Institute of Science and Technology, Technical university of Munich). He also consult occasionally for industry on problems related to his research expertise.

Dr. Wong is the author and co-author of 65 journal papers and 60 international conference presentations. He has contributed to one book chapter on electrophosphorescent OLEDs and one on X-ray scattering analysis of semiconductors. He is the author of a new e-book called 'Semiconductor strain metrology: principles and applications", Bentham Science (2012). This e-book is accessible at :
